Two central Ontario brokerages launch Sentinel Risk Insurance Group

The companies already run a Toronto office together

Darling Insurance (Bobcaygeon) Ltd. and JWK Insurance Broker are strengthening an existing partnership with the formation of Sentinel Risk Insurance Group.

The two central Ontario brokerages are merging their two companies, which serve clients in Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough and Whitby.

“Sentinel is well positioned to expand upon JWK’s sales culture and commercial expertise, while being able to take advantage of technical and administrative services provided by Darling Insurance’s head office,” states the brokerages’ announcement.

The two brokerages will maintain their individual names and brands for the present moment but plan to rebrand over the next year or two, according to David Kennedy, partner at Darling Insurance, in a note to Canadian Insurance Top Broker.

This move builds on a previous venture in which the two brokerages opened a shared office in Toronto, called Liberty Quotes, which allowed them to test new ideas and technologies.

Sentinel offers automobile, property, farm, recreational and commercial insurance.
