Towers Watson pushes vote on Willis merger to Friday

Abstaining amounts to a vote against the merger

Towers Watson has postponed its shareholder meeting to vote on the Willis merger until Friday.

“Stockholders who have not already voted or wish to change their vote are encouraged to do so…” the company said in a release.

It also reminded shareholders not voting or abstaining amounts to a vote against the merger.

Last week, the Institutional Shareholder Services recommended Willis shareholders vote for the deal but Towers Watson shareholders reject it, saying the latter company settled for too low a price.
