New underwriters for AGCS’ North American crisis management division

The insurer initially launched the division in 2016

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has welcomed three new underwriters to its North American crisis management team.

Alex Pittignano, based in New York, joins the team as an executive underwriter. He brings to the role more than 20 years of management experience in the insurance industry, which includes time spent at AIG.

Randy Esposito is now in the role of underwriting specialist for the team. He is also based in New York and has more than 10 years of experience in global corporate security risk and crisis management. Esposito was the vice president of operations at Hudson Analytix Inc. prior to joining AGCS.

Jillian Shelby, based in Chicago, has also joined the team as an underwriting specialist. She initially joined AGCS in 2006 as a member of the firm’s underwriting associate training program and worked for three years as a middle market commercial underwriter. Shelby returned to AGCS in 2015 as a middle market program manager.

Pittignano, Espositio and Shelby report to Marcos Garcia Norris, regional practice group leader for crisis management for North America.

This division was launched in 2016 and is designed to assist clients in preventing, preparing for and recovering from crisis incidents. It provides insurance and service solutions pertaining to product recall and contamination, hostile environments and terrorism and political violence.

“Whether it’s business interruption caused by a recall or protest riot, AGCS identified the importance of continuing the expansion of its crisis management expertise in both the U.S. and Canada,” says Garcia Norris.

“As the underwriting exposures and needs of our clients change constantly, a strong local knowledge base and service structure must be in place,” he adds. “Our new colleagues have an exemplary track record and have established themselves as respected and clear experts in this unique field.”
