New global head of cyber reporting for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty

Emy Donavan brings to her new role more than 10 years of experience in cyber, technology and specialty errors & omissions underwriting

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS) has promoted Emy Donavan to the role of global head of cyber reporting.

Donavan, who is currently regional head of cyber for AGCS North America, will succeed Nigel Pearson who has left AGCS to pursue other opportunities.

She will oversee cyber insurance for commercial companies and financial institutions as well as professional indemnity (PI) insurance for technology companies. This will involve leading a team of regional cyber underwriters globally to further develop the firm’s product suite in these areas.

Donavan begins her new role on Mar. 31 and will report to Bernard Poncin, global head of financial lines at AGCS. The firm will not fill Donavan’s regional role. Jenny Soubra and Terri Mason who have country responsibility for cyber and PI products for tech companies in the U.S and Canada respectively will maintain their current focus.

Donavan has more than 10 years of experience of cyber, technology and specialty errors & omissions underwriting. This experience includes focusing on cyber and technology placements while serving as vice president of underwriting at Axis Capital.

“I would like to thank Nigel Pearson for establishing our global cyber practice in the past three years and wish him the best for his future. Emy Donavan will be an excellent successor,” says Poncin. “Her profound cyber underwriting experience in the mature U.S. market and proven management track record will help us to further expand our footprint in the dynamic global cyber insurance market.”
