More people have been allowed to return home after wildfires forced evacuations near Kelowna late last month.

The Central Okanagan Regional District has lifted the last of the evacuation orders for properties near the Philpott Road fire, but officials warn that the fire is still active and an evacuation alert remains in effect.

Evacuation orders were also lifted for a number of properties in the Cariboo over the weekend, as fire crews battle a number of wildfires in the Interior.

But dozens of homeowners south of Peachland remain displaced by the flames after a fire sparked Saturday and quickly ballooned to more than 10 square kilometres, forcing residents of 55 properties to flee.
