Digital and marketing executive to lead Sonnet Insurance

Roger Dunbar will focus on growing digital insurer, enhancing its brand

Sonnet Insurance has a new leader at the helm that brings more than 20 years of digital and marketing experience to the role.

Roger Dunbar officially becomes the senior vice president of Economical Insurance’s digital quote-to-bind service on Aug. 14. Dunbar has been tasked with leading a multi-year strategy that focuses on producing growth and brand enhancements in addition to further developing the customer experience for Sonnet, according to an announcement released Friday.

Dunbar was previously vice president of marketing at, a role he took on in 2012. He led consumer and business-to-business marketing initiatives among other responsibilities at the company.

In addition, his professional experience includes time spent as managing director of where his area of focus included growing digital subscriptions and vice president of digital and business development at The Globe and Mail.
