P&C leaders gather for Swiss Re breakfast
Executives from Canada’s major property and casualty insurers gathered in full force on April 4 for Swiss Re Reinsurance’s 32nd annual Canadian insurance outlook breakfast meeting.
Veronica Scotti, president and CEO of Swiss Re Canada, opened the event with a discussion on the risk of earthquakes in Canada and noted Swiss Re will release a report on the topic later this spring.
Moses Ojeisekhoba, CEO of Swiss Re Reinsurance, was also present and outlined the company’s economic and industry outlook for 2017. Ojeisekhoba was appointed CEO of the firm in 2016 after joining Swiss Re in 2012.
And the reinsurer welcomed David McGown, senior vice president of strategic initiatives at the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), to the stage. McGown shared IBC’s research regarding financial results for the P&C industry in 2016.
